Rest in Peace Katie Lynn Fields

I went to Katie Fields funeral today. The news states:

(Prattsburgh, N.Y.) -- A 10-year-old girl died at Strong Memorial Hospital after slipping and falling into her family pool Thursday afternoon.

State Police said that Katie Fields, of Prattsburgh, was walking from a raised deck to the pool, when she slipped along a narrow edge, struck her stomach, and fell into four feet of water.

Her 8-year-old brother witnessed the accident and called their mother, who got the girl out of the pool and administered CPR.

The girl was initially taken to Davenport Hospital in Bath, then transferred to Strong via Mercy Flight.

She died later of her injuries.

Bee has baby sat Katie and both of Katie's siblings for a while now. So this news has been heart wrenching to us. I am going to be a little more personal than the news though.

Katie was 10 years old, almost 11. She was born November 1st, 1997. Katie has two siblings. One older sister (13) and one younger brother (8). Katie's parents are divorced so that doesn't make the situation on the kids any easier. Katie is one of those girls that can make you laugh no matter what. You can be really mad at her but she'll just make you laugh and then you will love her again. She was filled with joy!

I've known Katie since October 2005. We went on a group hiking trip to Rock City Park in O-City. She hugged me the minute she met me. She hung on Bee and I the whole day. She held both our hands. So that was my first encounter with the amazing Katie.

A while later I called Bee while she was babysitting the kids and Bee told me that Katie wanted to say hi to me. So we talked for a little while and I asked how old she was. She told me 8 or 9 and I was like wow you are growing up to be a big girl. She said "No I'm not, I want to stay a little girl forever"! I laughed, then she told me she was mad at me and I told her I was sorry. She quickly forgave me.

This past winter I went ice skating and Katie was there. She kept taking my cap and skating around the rink with it. I would chase her and take it back and "scold" her. We were laughing and playing. Finally the last time she took my hat I skated up to her, shes giggling away, and I picked her up and I said "Katie Fields, don't take my hat". She just laughed and replied: "Dowe, I love you". I chuckled it off and hugged her and put her back down on the ice.

If Katie was still here I would want to tell her two things.

1: Katie, You got your wish. You will forever be a little girl.
2: Most importantly, I love you too.

Ok, so I think it's only fair to those of you that read this, if anyone that I update again. So much has been going on. It has been very chaotic over here.

First I want to apologize to everyone at Hoe-town that I promised to visit once I got my car on the road. Well, my car is on the road and I have no time.

I got a full time job a Stauffer's Biscuit Company. I am a Machine Operator over there. I like my job for the most part. I am saving up for my wedding. I am getting at least 40 hours a week and the pay isn't to bad. I get along with most everyone there, with a couple exceptions of drama. My supervisor hasn't been at work, due to the fact that someone had surgery and he has to sub for them. It has been pretty nice so far without him there. Tomorrow we get my factory manager as our supervisor for about 3 hours. I hope that goes well.

Ok, my family. I don't remember what all I have told you but I will tell you everything. F-sis and And-bro just had their first child yesterday morning. They named her L-niece. I guess she is adorable and F-sis is doing well. I wanted to go visit so bad, but I was stuck at work, working. S-sis and D-bro are doing fine. S-sis is about 6 months pregnant and feels good. Da-neph is a doll and is pretty good other than that darn cold.
Grandma A, Grandpa A, and L-uncle all are under chemotheropy right now for their cancer. So, please keep them all and Dad in prayer.

I had a 3 day vacation for Memorial Day so I spent all 3 days busy. Friday night when I was at work F-sis, And-bro, S-sis, D-bro, and Da-neph all came over while I was at work. D-bro went to his dads house; while S-sis and Da-neph spent the night here. It was really nice. I had a good time with S-sis. Saturday we all met up with D-bro at Letchworth and had a nice picnic. Sunday I drove over to Harvest Baptist Church to see Bee and the rest of the family. We had a picnic in their backyard. Monday I planned to go to Hoe-town to see Miss Court, and whoever else may be there for May term. Those plans were shattered when I heard we were going to Buff-city to see all my sickly Grandparents. We went to a Chinese buffet to see Grandma C, then we went to the A's and had a great time. Memorial day weekend was a whole lot of fun.

School is still going great for me. I just received an email saying:

I was really happy to read that email. I am still keeping up a 4.0 average. This semester I am taking: 3D Modeling: Maya, Applied Game Theory, and Introduction to Game Art. I am really enjoying school.

Bee and I are still doing well. We have been together for 16 months now and are getting married in 15 months. I fall deeper in love with her everyday. We had a very interesting conversation tonight. Everything is good, I just had a tough time with some interesting information. She should be sleeping right now. Actually I SHOULD be too. I knew I couldn't sleep, so I had to type this all out. I am tired now though, so I think I am going to go to bed.

¿How We Got Engaged¿

"Here is the engagement story everyone's been waiting for.



On Saturday March 15th 2008, Dowe and I planned to get together after not seeing each other for around two weeks. I had to work until 3pm and drove up to Dowe's house straight from work. (For those of you who don't know I work at Fashion Bug in B-Town.) I arrived at Dowe's house at about 4pm.
For the past 8 weeks Dowe and I have been doing Devotions for Dating Couple's.

Monday through Friday we do them on our own then on Saturday's we do them together as there are questions for us both to answer.

Dowe asked me if I would mind if we went up to the playground thats near his house to do our devotions together (as many of you know He has a large family and its hard to find a quiet spot to do devotions together). So Dowe and I drove up to the playground, Found a spot on the playground that was dry that we could sit at and Dowe went on to read that days devotions to me.

After Devotions were done He had me open a gift that he had for me. Which I knew he had a gift for me to celebrate us both having jobs but I didn't know what it was. So I started to open the bag and bairly saw what was inside when Dowe got down on one knee (in the mud) and pulled out this beautiful ring and asked me to marry him. I started crying and it took me a minute to be able to answer him. After realizing this was all for real I told Dowe Yes.

I then took off my promise ring from him and he put the engagement ring on my finger. Then lots of hugs and kisses came all while I was still crying.

Soon there after we called my mom who was in PA to tell her, called my dad as he was home and I was up to Dowe's, Told his mom, Dad, Sisters, Brothers, and tons of other people. ha... We were seriously on the phone for hours trying to call everyone to tell them and We're very sorry for anyone we missed calling."

It's Valentine's Day, A brand new day

Well, it's that time of year again, flowers, chocolate, and one of Hallmark's biggest holidays. There are quite a few depressions today, probably suicides. I have no reason to be depressed. No, times aren't always easy. I never said that, so please don't misquote me. As a matter of fact; lately, parts of my life have been quite unstable. I found out my Grandma A has a spot on one of her lungs, so please pray that it isn't cancer. I found out that my L-uncle has pancreatic cancer, and they are giving him 9 - 12 months to live. I ask you to pray for the family. Nobody is taking it easy. They are going to give him Chemotherapy to slow it down and to relieve him of pain. My P-uncle (He is mentally handicap), has not been doing good in the Home that he is in. I don't know details, but I think he has been acting out of anger. So please keep everyone in prayer. My Grandma C. has been in her house for a while now. Due to her illness, she is not able to leave the house. She is very lonely. Her best friend is having problems, so he can't come see her either.

On a happier note; Bee and I are doing well. We celebrated our one year January 27th. We are holding on strong, despite some unfortunate events. We went to a Valentine's Banquet last Friday. It was a good time. The tomato sauce and meatballs was a little iffy, but you know. We caught up on Lost, and exchanged gifts. I couldn't go and see her today due to the fact I have to work, but I will see her Saturday. That should be fun.

School has been going great. I have been getting great grades. Thanks to God.

Spiritually, I have been trying to stay strong. There are some issues that I need to iron out in my life. Please pray for strength in those areas.
